I won the lottery!!!!

An article bemoaning the dreadful odds of winning the lottery suggested going to the win checker on the lottery site and typing in a number at random as many times as you like just to see how unlikely it was to win anything. 1 in 54 chance of winning anything at all and about 13 million to one to hit the jackpot.

I typed in my random number with about 50% attention to see how it worked and.... hit the jackpot. OK it was the for July 2003 but it made me think a bit... 2 and a half million quid....am I lucky today? should I have a go at the real thing? These are the thoughts that any poor soul who's been bitten by the gambling bug must have to wrestle with.

One thing I'm promising myself, I'm not going to have that conversation that begins with ' what would you do if you won the lottery...' that way lies restlessness.
